Rasvanti - Brings old memories

I first came across ‘Rasvanti’ in Dewas, Indore where I went for spending summer holidays with my grand father. I was fascinated by the total atmosphere there. A small covered area, with water sprinkled every where to ward off summer heat to serve cool iced glass of sugarcane juice was called Rasvani. There was no special name for sugar cane juice stalls in the area where I used to stay. So naturally as a small child I used to love going to Rasvanti.
During my stay at Mauritius, albeit all round sugarcane, I could not find a single juice stall, as all the sugarcane goes to sugar factory in Mauritius.
Yesterday while going to Shani Shignapur, a place around 75 Km from Shirdi, our driver stooped the vehicle at a place and asked us to take juice etc if we like. I got down and after seeing the name Rasvanti, many memories returned in my mind. I was also fascinated by the way, the juice was being extracted. All must have seen the electric operated or hand operated machine used to extract juice but near Shani Shignapur, I found peculiar machines driven by bull.

विधि तुम्हारे लिये

विधि का परिचय करवाना ही पड़ेगा तभी आपको पता चलेगा कि वह है कौन? विधि हाथी अन्तरिक्ष के स्कूल में पढने वाली वह लड़की है जिसने सफलता के कई सोपान तय किये। सभी प्रतियोगी परीक्षाएं, olympiad, सभी में उसने कमाल दिखाया। उसके लिये एवं उन सभी बेटियों के लिये जो अपने परिवार का नाम रोशन करती हैं, मेरा शत शत नमन।

कहते हैं पूत के पाँव पालने में नजर आते हैं.

पर हमने विधि को पालने में देखा ही नहीं.

देखा होता तो समझ जाते,

कि यह बिटिया साधारण नहीं.

याद है मुझे वह दिन, जब घर आकर बताया अन्तरिक्ष ने,

Asset में गोल्ड मैडल पाया एक लड़की विधि ने.

उस दिन पहली बार जाना था विधि के नाम को ,

फ़ोन घुमाकर, नंबर ढूँढा, दी बधाई चंद्रा भूषण जी को.

विधि कि प्रगति देखते रहे हम साल दर साल,

ऊँचाईयों के सोपान चढ़ती रही वह इस डाल - उस डाल |

दादा दादी कि दुलारी, लाडली मम्मी पापा की वह,

प्रीत की बड़ी बहना, हम सब की प्यारी विधि है यह|

The journey was not without trouble,

The ups and downs made the life miserable.

Studies, headgirlship, no social commitment,

Vidhi was deep down in work with little entertainment .

What ever came in her way, She concurred,

The KVPY, NTSE, Olympiad all were achieved.

Vidhi is lucky to get parents as mentors.

And a target set by her seniors.

विधि, हमें नाज़ है तुम पर,

तुम्हारी विनम्रता, तुम्हारी शालीनता, तुम्हारी उपलब्धियों पर|

असफलताओं से डरो नहीं, रखो विश्वास स्वयं पर ,

छुओं अन्तरिक्ष की ऊँचाईयों को, पर रहो सदा जमीं पर|

तुम्हारे भविष्य के लिए आर्शीवाद है हम सबका,

नाम रोशन करो इसी तरह से मम्मी, पापा, दादा, दादी का|

खुल गए हैं पंख, पाओ असीम अनंत आकाश ,

मुसीबतों से घबराओ नहीं, रखो आत्म विश्वास|

धन्य हैं चंद्रा भूषण जी, घर का भाग्य होती हैं बेटियाँ,

उनके आने से आती है घर में ढेर सारी खुशियाँ|

प्रार्थना है उस प्रभु से दोनों हाथ कर जों,

अगले जनम में मोहे एक बिटिया भी दीजो |

Experience contd..

Two days back I wrote about the horrifying experience. Today one of our friend mentioend that the other day during aandhi he took pictures of changing scenario from his balcony and saw how a parked car disappeared from site and then became visible. I immediatley knew that it was our car he was talking about as he stays in the adjacent house where we parked the car. I immediatley asked for the photos and posting them. One photo is to show the outline of parked car. Another photo shows total darkness ( This was taken first). Third photo shows when the things were little clear and Vinod moved the car back to avoid overhanging cable and the car could be clearly seen. And the final photo is the clear area half an hour after the event. One can just see the changing scenario.

Horrifying experience

Yesterday evening we left office at 6:20. Cool breeze was flowing so decided to keep the windows open in the 3 km long deserted stretch of road in the campus .  Suddenly Vinod noticed some black smoke fast approaching and said,"Look back, some smoke is approaching". I turned back and to my surprise a black wall was approaching us which was around 700 m behind. I asked vinod for the camera but he ignored me and increased the speed of the car anticipating big trouble. Fortunately for me, Vinod's mobile was lying in the middle and I grabed that and took some pictures in what ever position I was. It didnt capture the deadliness of the storm but just gives a feel of it. Vinod was speeding the car   to cover the ramaining distance without any mishap as  we were passing below High Tension Lines. 

While we exited from the campus and were near the nearest shelter (AFRI quarters) on main road, strom actually caught us. Within seconds to our surprise it became pitched dark all around. Being  a die hard HP fan, I remembered Harry Potter's first book where Dumeldore makes every thing dark by put outer.  The sun light vanished like puf...... Visibility reduced to absolute zero and we were within a very big ' Bavandar' or a mini twister you can say.

The scenes from movie twister staretd dancing before me and virtually the wind has pressure to out turn our car. With Gods grace we could turn to near by colony by finding the entarnce gate with great difficulty and parked the car. We were so frightned that we could not sit inside car. In the pitched dark (More than what we observe at night) we came out and faced the gushing wind and sand storm. It continued for 20 minutes. Darkness went after about 12 minutes but the fury continued for 40 minutes or so.

Naturally the house was full of sand and it took almost four hours to bring the house back to some shape. I first time felt the full fury of nature yesterday.

Others too had peculiar experience. Rakesh told that his maid servant was weeping as her son was missing. She felt that storm has blown away the small kid. Fortunately for every one, he took shelter in the nearby house. 

The other one to face full fury of nature were two girls who while walking on the road within the campus could not see each other a meter apart and have to  hold hands. Unable to see any thing and to avoid being blown away(Both are very thin) both enveloped one nearby tree.  The sense of direction was lost to them.

In one part of city a tree fell over a high priced car and divided it in two by the impact. Thankfully it was parked and no one was inside.

 

अब जब मैं माँ हूँ

आज Mothers डे है। विदेशों में इस दिन को मनाने का बहुत चलन है। सब इस दिन माँ को मिल सके इसलिए रविवार को ही मनाया जाता है। मायें बच्चों का कितना ख्याल रखती हें। :)

एक छोटी सी कविता के द्वारा कुछ भाव व्यक्त किए हें। आशा है, पसंद आयेंगे।

अब जब मैं माँ हूँ
माँ अब मुझे समझता है, जब मैं एक माँ हूँ

वह प्यार, वह देखभाल, वे आशाएं, वे प्रार्थनाए,

वे सारी बाते जो तुमने मेरे लिए की ,

मैं अब समझ सकती हूँ

जब मैं वे सब मेरे बच्चे के लिए करती हूँ।

अब सब बदला बदला सा है।

मैं तुम हूँ और अब मेरा बेटा है।

जैसे तुम मेरे लिए परेशान रहती थी

वैसे में आज उसके लिए रहती हूँ
पर उसे जैसे कुछ पता ही नहीं,

जैसे मुझे नहीं पता था उस समय

मैं अब समझ सकती हूँ, क्योंकि मैं एक माँ हूँ अब।

तुम्हे दुःख, तुम्हारी परेशानियाँ,

तुम्हारी चिंताए, मेरी शैतानियाँ

कितना मैंने तुम्हे परेशान किया

वह सब समझ सकती हूँ

क्योंकि मैं अब एक माँ हूँ।
मैंने वही देखा जो तुमने नहीं किया

मैंने वही देखा जो तुमने नहीं दिया

जो किया उसकी ओर ध्यान नहीं दिया

लेकिन अब मैं सब समझ सकती हूँ

क्योंकि अब मैं भी एक माँ हूँ माँ.

A Notice Board

I went on tour yesterday. It was a hectic day as We travelled total 700 km in one day. While coming we stopped at a place Kekri, Rajasthan which is known for its giant size parathas (पराठा )। The place has been detoriated over the years. After entering I saw sme thing on the wall and my... my... I found this notice board on the wall. I know that by the influence of various babas, people fell that cold drinks are toilet cleaners and are bad for health. But the comparison made here is speaking for itself. Have a look and enjoy.

महिला दिवस विशेष

महिला दिवस पर कुछ महिलाओं का Lions क्लब ने सम्मान किया। मेरा भी सम्मान किया गया। उस अवसर पर मैंने एक कविता कही वह प्रस्तुत है।

नन्ही बालिका

उगा सूरज, मुर्गे ने दी बांग घर द्वारे।

पत्तियों की सरसराहट, उड़ चली एक चिडिया पंख पसारे।

एक अलमस्त सुबह, पर घर में गूँज रही थी सिसकी।

Kaaran - जन्मी थी उस दिन एक प्यारी सी बच्ची।

जब खोली आँख उसने, इस उजले जग में,

न पाया स्वयं को , किसी के आँचल में।

जोर से रोई वह पैरों को झटक कर,

न लिया उसे किसी ने गोद में, हाथ फैले रहे पर.

पिता कोसते रहे नसीब को, माँ रोती रही,

दूध की प्रतीक्षा में लड़की अकेली पड़ी रही।

पड़ी थी अकेली खटिया पर वह नन्ही सी जान .

क्योंकि वह थी एक लड़की क्या यही है नारी की शान

ये सब क्यों मैं पूछती हूँ सब से

क्या गलती हुई उस दुधमुही बच्ची से

उसके भी कुछ सपने हैं , हैं उसकी आशाएं

फिर क्यों उसके भाग्य मैं है ये प्रतादनाये

ऐसा व्यहार जिसका नहीं कोई भी हकदार

जब गरीब का लड़का भी पाता है बहुत प्यार दुलार

क्यों होता है लड़की के साथ ये अत्याचार

क्यों कुचला जाता हें उसका अस्तित्व बार बार

हम सभी को देना है इस प्रश्न का जवाब

नन्ही लड़की की मदद करना है , करने को पूरे उसके ख्वाब

खोलने हें उसके पंख , उडाना हें उसे गगन में

पहुचना हें उसे आगे , आकाश की असीम उन्चायिओं में
