I am quoting some conversations.
As if the brother's marriage is such an event which Doctor should remember like when Abhinav Bindra won the Gold or when India got indepndence.
Doctor:
These all chit chats we were enjoying when she told that when ever a lady patients is asked about the number of kids she has, the answer given counts for only male child the lady has. If the patient has three female child and three male child then she will tell that she has three kids. Number of female children are not accounted for.
I was dumb struck after listening to this. " मेरा कोई बच्चा नहीं", my Doctor firend said. I was aghast.
One end we talk about Sanya, Soniya and feel proud to be Indian and on the otehr end I am listening to tis conversation which tells me that parts of rural India does not count for female child. The female child is non - existance.
Continuing with the discusion another friend told that in many house hold ' भाटो पैदो हुओ'. ( Stone/पत्थर is born) is told when ever girl child is born.

Then I started searching for more school names and I found that most of the times, the school name has no relevance at all. Let me give some examples.
  • One school in Jodhpur has name as 'Doon Woods School'. Now why such name. Are there woods nearby or the school has some branch in Dehradun? No nothing of such sort.
  • Another name is 'ज्ञानोदय public school'. Some one should tell them that ज्ञानोदय is very nice name and there is no need to write public school with that.
  • 'Oxford Public School', will have no relation with Oxfod.
  • 'St Anthony school', Mother Teressa school' are few more examples in the above category where school owner may not even know who St Anthony was or who Mother was.
  • 'Prodigy kids play school' is one more school name I came across.
  • Icing on the cake is ''Mother Kid's school'.
I am sure there will be many more such examples to share. Do share your views.

Life with support system

My husbands friend wrote it in some forum. I liked it very much so thought of sharing.
'After seeing some TV programme on life with support system, I told my mother that if in future such situation arise where I have to live on support system then please dont allow the doctors to do that and remove all the support system.
My mother watched me carefully and listened to my sincere statement. She simply got up from chair and in one go switched off my mobile, PC, laptop, music system, TV, DVD player, iPOD. She also threw all my special stuff from fridge.
Oh God, I reallt died.'

So friends. This is the life now a days. We can not live without the gadgets around us. We have become slave of the technology rather than becoming masters.
IS THIS THE LIFE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Yesterday I brought banana from the market. It brought many memories in my and my mothers mind. We both recollected how my son used to love banana when he was a small kid. When ever he will see any vendor selling banana he will simply shout ‘Kola Kola’, instead of ‘(Kela, Kela, banana is called ‘Kela’ in hindi). He was simply mad after this fruit.
My mother told another incidence which was told to her by her friend say’ Neeta’. Neeta, her son (Few years old) and husband missed the train and had to cancel the trip as husband refused to travel by any another means (he is a pass holder of railways). It was hot summer time and instead of taking auto etc husband preferred to walk. Suddenly the son saw banana cart and asked Neeta to give one banana. Neeta requested husband to buy banana and give to son. The husband in turn first abused wife, then purchased one banana and literally pushed it inside the mouth of his son. Little boy choked and panicked and his eyes watered. ‘Kha kha aur mar’ were the sentences of father.
After hearing this incidence I am really disturbed. This is not a story. Yesterday I saw so many articles on fathers day and at the same time I heard this.

It requires courage

The month of May is the month of results. Every other day, some or the other result appears in the newspapers. There is one thing that I find common in every interview. Any guess?

Every student says "The credit of my success goes to my parents.”

Whenever I read these lines, the same thought comes to my mind. It is the duty of parents to provide all forms of support, moral or otherwise, to their kids. They have, at best, fulfilled their responsibility. Why do the students always have to thank their parents and no one else for their success? In majority of cases some one else may be responsible in inducing the competitive spirit in the student. But it requires courage to name the person from whom you got the strength and will power to excel in life.

I am yet to find a student who can boldly say that parents' support is any way there but the person xyz was responsible for his growth. He was the inspiration in his life.

No some people do mention. There is a bookish answer: Abdul Kalam Ji is my idol. He may not be aware of the great things Kalam sahib has done but in ‘rata rataya speech’ it is always some great leader.

Anyway, this is life.

Mother's feelings on her son's 18th birthday

Every mother loves her child. For her the children are Universe. When she is married, her husband is every thing to her. When the kids arrive she devotes her entire energy and time in their upbringing. The kids grow and in time leave the nest and the mother is all alone. Mothers are more attached to son (Biologically proved J). Here I tried to put in words feelings of a mother on her son’s 18th birthday. Hope u like it. Do drop comment if u like. Do criticize if you don’t like.

Earth Day

Today is Earth day and I thought of sharing this poem with all. We all have to take care of Mother Earth. She is the real provider.

EARTH DAY POEM by Jane Yolen
I am the Earth
And the Earth is me.
Each blade of grass,
Each honey tree,
Each bit of mud,
And stick and stone
Is blood and muscle,
Skin and bone.
And just as I
Need every bit
Of me to make
My body fit,
So Earth needs
Grass and stone and tree
And things that grow here
Naturally.T
hat's why we
Celebrate this day.
That's why acrossThe world we say
:As long as life,
As dear, as free,
I am the Earth
And the Earth is me.

Management Training at Hyderabad

I went for management training to Hyderabad. I had a wonderful experience there. Home away from home for 12 days. All the facilities, right from yoga to swimming (Although I did not swim) to Gym were there. I along with my frined there wrote a small poem which tells about day to day happeneing in the training.
Here it goes:-
Pramilaji aur Ushaji ne kiya hamara swagat

Integration presentation sabko pasand aaya.
Reddy mam ke saath gender issue tha bada hot

Satyam presentation (We had been to Satyam school of leadership) ne sabko kiya chakit
Oh, what a scene at Golkunda. Mosquitoes, mosquitoes every where.
Golkunda ke mosquitoes ne diya sound light ka saath
Ramoji aur salarjung ki sabko rahegi yaad
Eggs saath lekar aaye saxena teacher
Gubbaro, kagaz se khele, saare future leader
Technical english aasan nahi, bole saxena saheb
Leadership and knowledge management chale saath saath
Training hamari khatam hui, par nahi hui yah gaatha
Aao milkar jane, training ke saathiyon ka khata
Achcha khana, welcome dinenr , Question, queries and answer
Rajashree Somnath ne kheeche, training ke sabhi rang
Jolly ke sang Rajashree ne kiya, is kahani ka ant

This so called poem (Infact Aashu kavita it is called) was written within one hour.

Welcome to my space where I will be sharing various thoughts about life.
